Are you the Swiss-type expert who thrives on first-part success?
You’ll own the end-to-end process on CNC Swiss-style lathes making medical instruments and implants—setting up, operating, maintaining, and continuously improving. You’ll tackle program debugging, setup optimization for NPI, and hands-on fabrication, deburring, inspection, and troubleshooting to deliver on-time with zero compromise on quality.
Shifts available : 1st and 2nd shift.
What you will handle
- Setups and changeovers from start to finish, including tool changes, machine adjustments, and CNC program debugging.
- Operation and care of CNC Swiss-style machines, plus finishing equipment, hand tools, and fixtures—perform burr removal as required.
- Interpret blueprints, inspection check-sheets, and work instructions accurately.
- Measure using calipers, micrometers, height stands, and comparators; document results electronically.
- Leverage ERP and machine monitoring systems to manage work orders, track production, and record quality checks.
- Provide detailed feedback to CNC programmers and maintain up-to-date setup documentation under change control procedures.
- Coach teammates within your area to maximize CNC equipment utilization and production attainment; support training when needed.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that elevate quality and delivery.
- Execute to the production plan and uphold on-time delivery to customers.
Do you bring the right toolkit?
High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced technical training is a plus.5+ years of experience operating Swiss-style lathes in manufacturing.Background with Citizen, Tsugami, or similar platforms preferred.Strong command of machinery, tooling, measuring, and gauging equipment with a deep understanding of production processes.Mastery of setups, blueprint reading, routers, and setup files.Ability to understand functional and cosmetic part requirements.Working knowledge of basic CNC programming.Clear, effective verbal communicator across production, management, and technical stakeholders.Comfort with lean manufacturing principles.Proven ability to follow instructions and execute tasks as directed by the Supervisor.Alignment with company core values and professional behaviors.Knowledge of Avalign’s Quality System, including Measurement Instruction Sheet (MIS) layout and purpose, and Avalign’s Compliance Policies.Your impact
