Scope of the Position
The Marketing Content Specialist is an entry-level Marketing position responsible for a combination of digital marketing, content creation, and administrative duties. The role reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and Public Relations and is primarily responsible to develop, design, coordinate and in some cases execute resort projects related to all realms of marketing, including digital, out-of-home, traditional, collateral, and more. In addition, the specialist will support the online, on-property content production processes for the resort including maintenance and buildouts on brand and ancillary websites, digital and other media platforms. The qualified candidate will be involved in internal and external campaigns, occasional involvement with media hosting processes, and the creation of marketing collateral and electronic literature in accordance with corporate branding procedures and guidelines.
Position Requirements
- Minimum2 years' experience in marketing, hospitality, or related industry, preferred.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in graphic design, preferred.
- Experience with Adobe platforms (including In-design, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Canva, and Capcut (preferred).
- Understanding of cross platform marketing channels (web, mobile, email, out-of-home).
- Detail-oriented and the ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Quality focused and resourceful with excellent verbal and written communication skills, as frequent interaction with other departments, members and guests may occur.
Responsibilities
Support Executive Director of Marketing & Public Relations and Senior Marketing Manager with implementation of design projects (print & digital) representing various areas of the resort including Group sales, F&B, Golf, Spa, Waterpark, Membership, etc. collaborate as needed with Content Production Agency for more advanced needs.Audit, manage and overhaul 3rd party industry and media website listings (AAA, GMCVB, CVENT, Google, TripAdvisor, Yelp, Bing Business, Apple Maps, WeddingWire, HereComesTheGuide, TheKnot, etc.)Support Revenue team to manage content-based changes to Online Travel Agency and Wholesale websites (Expedia, Travelocity, Booking.com, JetBlue, AMEX Travel, Chase Travel, etc.)Support the Senior Marketing Manager with updates to food and drink menus, spa menus, and other in-house facilitated collateral updates.Support resort events and ancillary outlets including Spa, Restaurants, Waterpark, Membership and others, with content development for enewsletter incorporation and other promotional channels.Assist in the upkeep and advancement of all Resort-associated vanity websites including BourbonSteakMIA.com, TidalCoveMiami.com, AmeWellness.com and TurnberryIsleCountryClub.com. Includes content updates, page buildouts, SEO efforts and more.Facilitate all updates to the Resort's Marriott.com website, including communications with Marriott Brand within Marriott's MGS intranet site.Facilitate updates to the Resort's on-property wayfinder screens, in-room promotions channel(s) and other promotional areas.Collaborate with ongoing media partners to obtain usage rights, edit and store inbound media for usage with ongoing marketing efforts.Aid in email design and testing to further advance Resort's ongoing electronic communications strategy.Responsible for daily communication upkeep spanning all of the Resort's social media feeds (i.e. - responding to all comments and messages across all social media pages, elevating guest concerns and issues to external departments, etc.).Assist Social Media & Content Manager to organize, house and simplify distribution of content within Resort's server and asset library collections.Assist Social Media & Content Manager as needed with professional and / or in-house content shoots for photography and videography.Assist the Marketing and Public Relations Department in the day-to-day administrative duties (monthly marketing reporting, invoice processing, media alerts, etc.)Other marketing and administrative responsibilities as required by the department.Education
2-4 year college degree from accredited university preferred.Skills and Abilities
Ability to collect, evaluate and interpret varied data, graphics, spreadsheets, and database programs to develop reports.Able to coordinate multiple projects and meet critical deadlines.Excellent presentation, writing, and speaking skills.Ability to communicate clearly and in the English language. Second language is a plus.Ability to work flexible schedules including occasional holidays and weekends, and able to perform multiple tasks.Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Canva, and additional content creation platforms.Physical Requirements
Must be able to work on a fast paced environment.Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen on a continuous basis.Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk.Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation, use telephone and computer keyboard daily.Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.Requires standing / walking / reaching and bending throughout shift.
