JTM Safety Professionals are responsible for championing our safety culture throughout the organization while facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety guidelines and regulations. This role assists in overseeing their assigned project or site activities related to occupational health and safety through direction from the Project Safety Manager. As a member of the JTM safety team, this role will promote a progressive and comprehensive safety culture. The Safety Engineer will directly interact with project staff and craft, superintendents, corporate safety leadership, and subcontractors.
The full salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 depending on direct professional experience and qualifications. The bonus target for this role is 3% -10% of annual base earnings.

Assist Project Management Team in Developing and Executing Site-specific Safety Program and ActivitiesAssist in Day-to-Day Safety Operations to Assigned ProjectsAssist Safety Manager with Safety Submittals and Preconstruction and Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors / Trade PartnersAttend, Coordinate, and Conduct Safety Orientation and Training as NeededAssist in Scope Specific Safety Meetings on Assigned Projects as NecessaryAttend and Assist in Weekly Safety MeetingsAssist Safety Manager by Monitoring Subcontractor Plans and Activities for Safety Compliance and Concerns for Assigned ProjectsUnderstand Scheduled Project Activities. Assist in the Review of Work Plans and Communicate Safety ConcernsConduct Work Area Safety Audits on Assigned ProjectsDocument and Track all Safety Violations, Unsafe Conditions, and Non-complianceAssist in Documentation, Tracking, and Analysis of all Safety, Injury, and Hazard Statistics, Trending Analysis, and OSHA / L&I / DOSH Reporting on Assigned ProjectsAssist in Permitting Processes on Assigned ProjectsEnsure Maintenance and Inspection of Safety Equipment and Personal Protective EquipmentMaintain Project Site Personal Protective EquipmentAssist Safety Manager in Mobile and Tower Crane Safety on Assigned ProjectsAssist with Investigations for all Injuries and Incidents, Near Misses, and Property DamageAssist in the Project Emergency Response Including Planning / Preparedness, Emergency Communication, and Emergency Responders (Fire Department / EMS)Conduct Project's Leading and Trailing Indicator Data and Document Collection, and Trend AnalysisAssist in Coordinating OSHA Reporting and Posting RequirementsAssist with the Organization and Implementation of Project Safety Celebrations and Recognition / Reward ProgramsParticipate in and Contribute to Project Planning and Hazard AnalysisMaintain Operational Knowledge of Construction Safety, OSHA, L&I / DOSH, and Other Applicable Standards, Regulations, Laws, and ProceduresServe as a Resource for Safety Issues or Concerns for all Project Team Members / Operating Group ManagementSupport Assistant Safety Manager, Assistant Safety Director, Corporate Safety Director, and Safety Leadership Team in Achieving and Maintaining Safety Performance MetricsPerforms Other Duties as AssignedREQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
