Trauma Program Manager
The Trauma Program Manager will work in concert with STHS colleagues, leadership and external stakeholders to ensure Trauma Accreditation compliance with standards of care and quality services provided in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and accreditation bodies. Assumes management of day-to-day processes and performance improvement activities as they relate to care of trauma patients. Partners with the Trauma Medical Director and leadership in the development of policies and oversight of the Trauma program. Acts as a liaison for STHS, Louisiana Emergency Response Network, and American College of Surgeons.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Current RN Licensure by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing
- Minimum of five (5) years of hospital, adult and pediatric acute care nursing experience (Critical Care, Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical)
- Must show evidence of educational preparation and clinical experience in the care of the injured patient
- Masters in Nursing, Health Care Management, or a related field preferred
- Knowledge of experience with Electronic Health Records
- Current membership in Trauma Nursing Core Course certification (TNCC) or other national or regional trauma organizations, ACLS and PALS preferred.
- Maintenance at a minimum of 12 hours of trauma-related continuing education per year will be required
- Experience with performance improvement methodology including Lean Six Sigma with belt certification preferred
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and possess emotional and professional maturity
- Team building, change management, performance improvement and consensus building skills
- Able to demonstrate flexibility to changing environmental situations and encourages others to look at change in a positive way
- Complies with / obeys all health system and departmental policies and procedures
- Works effectively with limited supervision and follows through on assignments without being reminded
- Relationship management skills to effectively interact with diverse groups of stakeholders, including physicians, administration, and clinical staff
- Assist Quality Department leadership with managerial activities for support staff including but not limited to direct report and accreditation oversight, HR-related functions, evaluations, and meetings
Physical Demands :
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
