DutiesPerform comprehensive physical exams on dogs and cats (and other species if applicable)Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditionsDevelop treatment plans and communicate them clearly to pet ownersPerform routine surgical procedures (e.g., spays, neuters, mass removals)Conduct dental procedures including prophylaxis, extractions, and oral examsInterpret lab results, radiographs, and other diagnostics to guide carePrescribe medications and maintain accurate medical recordsCollaborate closely with veterinary technicians and support staffProvide client education and build strong, trust-based relationshipsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of veterinary medicine, including CE participationFollow safety and infection control protocolsContribute to practice growth and culture, including mentoring newer team members when applicableExperienceDVM or VMD degreefrom an accredited veterinary schoolLicensed (or eligible) to practice veterinary medicinein the state of New JerseyMinimum1-2 years of clinical experiencein general practice preferred (new grads welcome with strong mentorship structure)Experience performingroutine surgeries(spay / neuter, mass removals) anddental proceduresProficiency indiagnostic interpretation(bloodwork, radiographs, urinalysis, etc.)Comfortable using or learningtechnology-driven tools(e.g., digital records, AI charting, telemedicine, automated client communication platforms)Skilled inclient communicationand ability to explain medical conditions and treatments in a clear, compassionate wayCollaborative mindset; thrives inteam-oriented environmentsCommitted tocontinued learningand professional developmentAbility to managemultiple cases efficientlywhile maintaining a high standard of careInterest in or experience withpreventive care, internal medicine, soft tissue.
