POSITION SUMMARY :

Under the direction of the Director of Quality and Risk, the Risk Management Manager will have responsibilities in performing the daily tasks associated with Risk Management functions, as well as promoting communication between the Medical Staff, Hospital staff and others interacting with the Department. The Risk Manager supports a culture of safety and high reliability by identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks to patients, staff, and the organization in accordance with CMS Conditions of Participation and DNV Accreditation Standards (e.g., NIAHO, ISO 9001). This position oversees incident reporting and investigations, leads risk assessments and root cause analyses, and collaborates with leadership to reduce organizational liability and enhance patient safety in the acute care setting.

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • College preparation related to office or managerial organization preferred.
  • Proficiency in using word processing and computer systems.
  • Previous risk management experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage the hospital-wide risk management program with alignment to CMS and DNV requirements
  • Lead investigations for serious safety events (SSEs), sentinel events, near misses, and patient grievances
  • Facilitate Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), proactive Risk Assessments, and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs).
  • Monitor the occurrence reporting system, ensuring timely follow-up, trending, and analysis of incidents.
  • Serve as a resource for regulatory readiness activities, including tracers and audit support.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel, insurers, and leadership regarding potential and actual claims and litigation.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Compliance, Nursing, Medical Staff, and Leadership to monitor and address risk-prone processes
