American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Float Pool position, requiring a WI or compact RN license and strong acute care background.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a float pool covering a variety of medical, surgical, and intermediate care (IMC) units within a hospital settingPatient populations include cardiac, spine, neuro, and complex medical-surgical cases12-hour evening and night shifts (19 : 00–07 : 30) with every other weekend and holiday rotation required based on operational needsTravelers are the first to float and may be reassigned shifts to other units or locations within the organization as neededUse of EPIC EMR is requiredBasic arrhythmia interpretation skills and telemetry testing required prior to startingResponsibilities include floating across units, caring for diverse patient populations, and providing evidence-based, patient-centered careCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, nursing assistants, therapy staff, and advanced practice providersOpportunities available to serve as mentor, preceptor, and participate in quality improvement initiativesStrict tele / arrhythmia pass / fail testing requirements enforced pre-assignmentInitial orientation provided according to department schedule at the hospital locationFirst-time travelers may be accepted depending on unit needsRefer to dress code and scrub color policies outlined in assignment materialsHoliday scheduling is required per department needsRTO requests generally limited to two weeks per contract, subject to manager approval\n \n Requirements\n
Active RN license in WI or a compact RN license from permanent address state, in hand at time of considerationCurrent American Heart Association BLS certification is requiredAt least two years of acute inpatient RN experience within the last three years, including experience in multiple Med / Surg specialtiesEPIC charting experience requiredTelemetry competency, including passing telemetry exam before start (two attempts allowed), with ability to identify lethal arrhythmiasPermanent address must be at least 50 miles from the assigned primary work site locationLocal candidates are not accepted\n Benefits\n
