Purchasing Manager
The City of Banning is seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee the centralized purchasing activities for the City. This position is responsible for the supervision and organization of the Citys purchasing activities and related work as assigned. The Purchasing Manager will serve as a technical procurement resource for the Citys management, employees, and the public.

The Purchasing Manager will contribute to a positive work culture, demonstrate teamwork, and communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, subordinates, and individuals to whom service is provided. Essential functions include supervising the Citys centralized purchasing activities, developing and implementing goals for the Purchasing Division, administering contracts, supervising and training division personnel, and staying abreast of current trends in the field of purchasing.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, or a related field, and three years of professional purchasing experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity. Preferred qualifications include a Certified Professional Purchasing Manager (CPPM) certification or a Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) certification, and professional work experience in purchasing within a municipality or related public agency.
The working environment is an indoor office with moderate noise levels and occasional interruptions. The position requires physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, and turning, as well as near vision and acute hearing.
