A Brief Overview
The clinical educator provides and evaluates clinical education for licensed and unlicensed staff on all shifts and facilitates evidenced-based practice.
What You Will Do
- Collaborates with unit leadership to ensure staff competency upon hire and annually.
- Supports leadership by facilitating staff’s adherence to accreditation standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Exhibits leadership skills and ability to coach and develop staff to maintain and promote quality and affect change.
- Works collaboratively with the Department of Nursing Education and Professional Development to identify learning needs, develop and implement educational strategies, and participate in learning effectiveness evaluation.
- Adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics and the Standards of Practice in Nursing Professional Development roles established by the Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) to include : Educator, Consultant, Researcher, Facilitator, Change Agent, and Leader.
- Provides patient care as required.

Education
(BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)(MSN) Master's Degree in Nursing or related field (Preferred)Master's Degree for Level 4 NICU, Labor &Delivery, Post-Partum and Antenatal (Required)Work Experience
3+ years of Stepdown Unit RN (Required) andExperience with education, teaching in clinical setting (Required)Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and / or Multi State Compact License (Required) andBasic Life Support (BLS) (Required)Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Preferred)Certification in a specialty clinical area or nursing professional development (Required within 1 Year)Physical Demands
