American Traveler is seeking an RN with 2 years of pediatric cardiac ICU experience for a CVPICU position requiring SC or compact RN licensure and PALS certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 29-bed Beacon Award-winning Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU within a Level I Trauma, Magnet, and teaching hospitalProvides care for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease and a blend of cardiac surgical and medical diagnosesFrequent procedures include cardiac surgery, ventricular assist device management, heart transplant, cardiac catheterization, ECMO, and CRRTNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 based on acuityAll beds are monitored with advanced cardiac and ventilatory support availableElectronic charting is conducted using EPICDay shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts (7 : 00 am - 7 : 30 pm) with four weekend shifts required per four-week scheduleHoliday rotation is requiredFloating to similar pediatric units as neededWill provide highly specialized care for critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiac needsUnit supported by a multidisciplinary team including RNs, Patient Care Techs, respiratory therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, and ancillary staffPre-start learning modules required and completed prior to startFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyPrevious employees must have a one-year separation from this health system before being eligible to return as travelersAll RTO must be requested at time of application; approval based on unit needs and availabilityLocal candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a modified rateNo travel pairs are permitted on this unitDuring hurricane season (June-Nov), all staff may participate in emergency response teamsProfessional scrubs required; further dress code information will be provided at onboarding\n \n Requirements\n
Active SC or compact RN license, in hand or proof of application for walk-through processMinimum of 2 years recent pediatric cardiac ICU experienceCurrent PALS and BLS certifications through the American Heart AssociationCardiac and pediatric patient care experience required; VAD experience highly preferredACLS certification through AHA preferredExperience with EPIC charting preferredAll required documents, including valid state ID and SSN, must be provided for consideration\n Benefits\n
