job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWork in a 29-bed Beacon Award-winning Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU within a Level I Trauma, Magnet, and teaching hospital Provides care for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease and a blend of cardiac surgical and medical diagnoses Frequent procedures include cardiac surgery, ventricular assist device management, heart transplant, cardiac catheterization, ECMO, and CRRT Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 based on acuity All beds are monitored with advanced cardiac and ventilatory support available Electronic charting is conducted using EPIC Day shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts (7 : 00 am - 7 : 30 pm) with four weekend shifts required per four-week schedule Holiday rotation is required Floating to similar pediatric units as needed Will provide highly specialized care for critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiac needs Unit supported by a multidisciplinary team including RNs, Patient Care Techs, respiratory therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, and ancillary staff Pre-start learning modules required and completed prior to start First-time travelers are welcome to apply Previous employees must have a one-year separation from this health system before being eligible to return as travelers All RTO must be requested at time of application; approval based on unit needs and availability Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a modified rate No travel pairs are permitted on this unit During hurricane season (June-Nov), all staff may participate in emergency response teams Professional scrubs required; further dress code information will be provided at onboarding Active SC or compact RN license, in hand or proof of application for walk-through process Minimum of 2 years recent pediatric cardiac ICU experience Current PALS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association Cardiac and pediatric patient care experience required; VAD experience highly preferred ACLS certification through AHA preferred Experience with EPIC charting preferred All required documents, including valid state ID and SSN, must be provided for consideration High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
