Full-Stack Developer, Independent Contractor

Overview

The Shift Network is a socially-conscious company that empowers a global network of more than 2.5 million people to live their full potential through education, media, and trainings featuring leading wisdom keepers and visionaries. Our courses include materials such as sound healing, mediumship, shamanism, and most recently we hosted an AI Summit. This is a freelance position. You must be an established Independent Contractor to be considered. This Independent Contractor opportunity will be up to 40 hours per week or up to 180 hours per month, depending upon work volume. The contract opportunity requires at least 5 hours of overlap time with Pacific time, and that your total availability is flexible. The position pays $35-40 per hour to start, depending upon qualifications and experience.

You will be part of a small team working on a couple of B2C React / NextJS applications. We are in the process of migrating our stack to modern technologies. You will be part of the team that builds the foundations of this new stack. Since we are a small team, you will be working on several areas of the application : marketing, content delivery, subscription management, third party connectivity, admin panels, etc.

We are looking for someone with at least 3-5 years experience.

Stack & Technologies Experience

• React and Next.js using App Router, SSR, and modern hooks
• TypeScript with strong proficiency
• Node and Express for backend integration
• REST APIs, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL
• Vercel for hosting and GitHub Actions for CI / CD
• Git workflows including pull requests, branching, and reviews
• Solid understanding of scalable architecture and clean code principles
