The State of South Carolina, Department of Public Safety is seeking candidates for a State Trooper position. This is a full-time employment opportunity available statewide in South Carolina. Candidates must meet the residency requirement and possess a valid South Carolina driver's license. The hiring range for this position is from $57,361.00 to $77,222.00.

This position includes a sign-on bonus structure as follows : $1,500 upon successful completion of all basic training, $2,000 after 12 months of service, $2,000 after 24 months of service, $2,000 after 36 months of service, and $2,500 after 48 months of service.

Minimum and additional requirements include a high school diploma, experience in patrol or investigative duties, and the ability to perform all essential job functions of a State Trooper. Former SCDPS Officers or Troopers who meet all qualifications are preferred. All applicants will undergo an extensive background investigation, including a credit check, criminal history check, driving history, drug test, and medical screening.
