Mattress Firm Warehouse Manager

From picking and loading the correct merchandise to ensuring on time arrival and product setup, our supply chain team ensures that the final step of the Mattress Firm shopping experience goes smoothly. When you work in our warehouses, you'll play a vital part in helping people sleep well so they live well every day.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee efficient day-to-day operations of the distribution center.
  • Contribute to meeting overall financial objectives of the distribution center compared to budget.
  • Create and foster an environment of trust, open two-way communication, and cohesive team effort.
  • Ensure alignment with strategic vision and communicate organizational mission and values to the team.
  • Educate team members and contract employees on customer satisfaction measures and hold them accountable to results.
  • Communicate with team members through regular and frequent meetings.
  • Hold one-on-one meetings with direct reports at least twice a month.
  • May represent the distribution center at regional operations and cross-functional meetings.
  • Ensure the distribution center meets company standards on appearance, cleanliness, and functionality.
  • Ensure adherence to operational processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with sales partners to ensure delivery of exceptional customer service.
  • Facilitate resolution of customer service issues.
  • Assist in managing the distribution center schedule.
  • Conduct required physical cycle counts, review discrepancies, and make appropriate corrections.
  • Provide safety and other training and periodic retraining to all team members and contract employees in the distribution center.
  • Monitor employee time records and review / approve paid time off and leave of absence requests in accordance to policy and procedures.
  • Recruit, interview, and participate in the hiring process for potential team members.
  • Verify driver payroll for accuracy.
  • Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all.
  • Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.
  • Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation.
  • Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations.
  • Execute team member performance improvement plans, progressive discipline, and terminations when appropriate per Company policy.

Non-Essential Responsibilities

  • Participate in distribution center and organization-wide project teams and focus groups.
  • Assist Loss Prevention with loss prevention audit and safety audits.
  • Take an active role in onboarding and training new team members.
  • Maximize operations to support sales.
  • Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives in the distribution center.
  • Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Contribute ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company.
  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree Business, related field, and / or equivalent experience preferred

  • Warehouse, logistics, or supply chain knowledge.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft products : Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • General warehouse standard operating procedures.
  • Basic retail operations.
  • Inventory control.
  • Safety policies and procedures.
  • Financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting.

  • Competitive pay range of $80,000-$85,000 annually

  • depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
