Manager, Contracts & Billing
Navitus Health Solutions is seeking a Manager, Contracts & Billing to join our finance department!
The position of Manager, Contracts & Billing acts as a lead for certain general accounting functions and has an emphasis on month-end close activities, financial reporting and analysis along with representing Accounting & Billing during specific assigned client implementations. This role will be a cross-functional partner working with Implementation, Sales and Account Management teams to understand RFPs and, eventually, contracted client billing requirements as well as translating those requirements into capital needs (reporting, enhancements to existing financial platforms, etc.) or FTE resources. This role will assist in client implementation project planning as assigned and communicating billing and finance risks associated with those project plans. In addition, this role will assist in special projects related to client contractual billing integrity, Finance Transformation and supervision of the rebate accounting and disbursement function. This leader will collaborate with the Sr. Manager, Revenue Cycle Management on end-to-end process improvement opportunities related to Finance Transformation. This leader will collaborate with Industry Relations Operations on risk and opportunity analysis of proposed and contracted client rebate arrangements.
The Manager, Contracts & Billing will bring financial expertise and leadership to the client on-boarding process as well as act in an advisor to both internal cross-functional partners as well as clients.

Responsibilities
- Represent Accounting and Billing Department on specific assigned client implementations.
- Partner with Navitus Implementation and Account Management teams to understand contract commitments as it relates to billing and accounting needs.
- Leverage previous experience in the health care / PBM industry (accounting and / or revenue cycle management) and understanding of PBM contracts to identify potential implementation risks as well as provide recommendations for mitigation or resolution.
- Advise both internally and externally on resource needs and milestones to deliver successfully contracted client deliverables (Billing and Finance related).
- Hold Navitus team members (including Accounting and Billing team members, IT, Sales, Account Management, etc.) accountable to RFP commitments vs. client contracted commitments.
- Assist Accounting, Billing and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team members with understanding client-specific financial risks for accrual and / or budgeting needs.
- Proactively address process gaps through client-specific implementation project plan(s) as assigned by outlining funding needs and / or staffing needs.
- Determine whether resource needs were underwritten as part of the bid process and RFP responses or not (based on final client contract requirements).
- Participate (as needed) in user-case scenarios / requirements gathering for financial system(s) enhancements / upgrades.
- Perform variance analysis of financial data.
- Participate in capital project planning and financial reporting (as it relates to client contracted commitments).
- Provide information to our FP&A partners to inform the forecasting and budgeting models / processes.
- Serve as a functional Billing and Accounting Department expert with respect to functional areas named, mentor and teach accounting and billing functionality to other Finance staff (as needed).

Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's Degree required with a major in Accounting / Finance / Economics desired; MBA / CMA / CPA preferred.Experience : Minimum of five years of managerial experience in accounting, FP&A or billing and collections. A minimum five years of accounting and / or revenue cycle management experience is required. A minimum of one-year experience in public accounting or two years in a technical accounting role in a corporate setting is desired. Minimum of three years of experience utilizing an automated billing solution in a dynamic environment.Knowledge and experience with financial system applications / ERP software such as Oracle (ORMB / Fusion), SAP, NetSuite, etc. are preferred.Advanced Excel skills including demonstrated proficiency with VLOOKUP, SUMIF and CONCATENATE formulas as well as pivot tables are required.Candidate must have experience with accounting software.Experience in the health care / PBM industry is highly preferred.What can you expect from Navitus?
