High School diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited phlebotomy / medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience Certification from nationally recognized agency. Accepted agencies and certifications include, but are not limited to : National Heathcareer Association – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA CCMA) American Society for Clinical Pathology – Phlebotomy Technician : PBT (ASCP) American Medical Technologists – Registered Phlebotomy Technician : RPT (AMT) National Center for Competency Testing – National Certified Phlebotomy Technician : NCPT (NCCT) American Certification Agency – Certified Phlebotomy Technician : CPT (ACA) Experience working in the clinical setting
