Manager Of Facilities & Grounds
Shaw Industries is seeking a Manager of Facilities and Grounds. Reporting to the Director of Global Facilities & Infrastructure, the Manager of Facilities & Grounds manages multiple salaried and hourly reports including Facility Project Managers, Grounds Manager, HVAC and Multi-craft Technicians, in addition to future position additions. This position will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of all aspects of our facilities and business critical data centers. The position leads the team in providing facility management support for 20+ corporate admin facilities including offices, Company Store, Onboarding Center, Caf 72, and Health Center at locations in Dalton, Ringgold, and Calhoun. This position will also provide strategic leadership and oversight of the facilities team's project management responsibility across the admin portfolio.
This position will be primarily based in Dalton, GA, with project management assignments and responsibilities potentially requiring work at any Shaw facility location.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Manage the facilities team and provide direction in developing project concepts, feasibility studies, budget estimates, and project execution. Recruit, train, and supervise staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and productivity.
- Responsible for fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the organization. Utilize sound performance management techniques, establish goals and challenge direct reports to be as efficient and effective as possible. Serve on cross functional committees such as kaizens, policy boards, etc.
- Utilize PX to set and measure goals for individuals, aligning with company objectives, and coach to promote further growth and development of the facilities team.
Budget Management :
Develop and manage the Global Facilities and Infrastructure capital budget; including forecasting expenses, monitoring costs, and identifying cost-savings opportunities.Develop and manage operating budgets for approximately 28 cost centers including building, occupancy, Corporate Security, Corporate Housing, Business Continuity (Remoter Operating Centers) and Caf accounts.Ensures the team solicits and documents plant / customer requirements and input.Obtain competitive bids for services and supplies, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to optimize spending.Partner with Global Sourcing to negotiate, set expectations, and assemble specifications for capital and expense projects and miscellaneous outside service providers as necessary to operate, maintain and support occupant needs for all admin locations.Facilities Management :
Exhibit sound business acumen to develop and implement a 5-year strategy to manage annual operating budgets for the corporate facilities portfolio.Collaborate with business leaders and occupants to assess space requirements and seek opportunities for improving operating costs and overall space utilization.Oversee office relocations, renovations, and expansion projects, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.Provide support and availability to all occupants as needed, utilizing FM Systems software to track and manage occupancy costs, maintain equipment assets and the maintenance work order system.Provide oversight to maintain safe and effective operation of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems as needed to ensure effective and efficient operation of the admin buildings and various Remote Operating Centers (ROC's).Safety and Compliance :
Ensure all relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards are met.Work with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Internal Risk Management to implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.Coordinate with regulatory agencies and conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance. Assure team compliance with all CE project administration guidelines and procedures.Asset Management :
Maintain accurate records of facilities assets, including equipment, furniture, and fixtures.Develop and implement strategies for asset management, including lifecycle planning and replacement schedules.Qualifications :
5+ years facilities management and 5+ years project management experiencePrevious experience leading a teamKnowledge of building electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systemsFamiliarity with building, Life Safety, ADA, and NFPA codesExcellent interpersonal, problem-solving and leadership skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsFrequent local travel using personal vehicle will be required (within 25-mile radius of home office)Competencies :
