Team Leader, Centralized Billing Office

Position Summary

The Team Leader- Central Billing Office will work closely with the CBO Manager to prioritize open communication and is responsible for the daily supervision of the LCRP billing staff. Assists and directs the activities for Financial Counselor(s), Insurance Collector(s), Payment Entry Specialist(s) and Insurance Biller(s). Assure accurate and efficient insurance professionalism. Duties include but are not limited to Global billing, entry of payments, adjustments, refunds and financial counseling in accordance with the Lewis Cancer and Research Pavilion's CBO policies. Maximize cash flow and maintain gross days in receivables at or below departmental goals. The Team Lead will work with the LCRP physician offices to assure appropriate patient account data is obtained in compliance with contractual agreements, federal and state regulations.

Education

Associates of Healthcare - Required

Detailed knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations for billing compliance.

Experience

3-5 Years Supervision of Accounts Receivable in Healthcare Setting(s).- Required

Concentration in claims submission, payment posting, follow-up, financial counselor, and appeals. GYN, Radiation, Surgical Oncology, and all aspects of the Oncology Service Line exposure - Preferred.

License & Certification

None Required

Core Job Functions

  • Promptly reviews outstanding Credit Accounts receivable in addition to all submitted charge adjustment and other refund request forms. Accurately posts all approved requests for charge adjustment and refunds. Produces required, related reports and documents accounts properly.
  • Prepares and administers applicable coworker evaluations promptly. Appropriately initiates coworker counseling and retraining when necessary. Accurately provides ongoing process and technical training.
  • Resolves technical and personal issues timely. Promotes cooperation and team work according to SJC standards. Monitors coworkers activity to ensure production standards are met daily.
  • Reviews and logs all coworker PTO requests promptly. Daily maintains adequate staffing levels in all areas. Appropriately maintains open communication with coworkers regarding call-ins.
