Why does the job exist?
The primary purpose of the position is to develop, implement, and maintain an effective training program for all new and existing staff, contracted staff, and volunteers, consistent with their expected roles. Will devote a substantial portion of time assigning and directly supervising the work of at least two (2) full-time employees, acting upon leave requests, conducting annual performance evaluations and recommendations for disciplinary actions.
How does it get done?
Works closely with facility leaders in developing a training plan that addresses all regulatory requirements. Develops or revises educational content to ensure the information reflects current standards of practice and facility policy. Tracks attendance / completion of training to ensure compliance.

Staff members, contracted staff and volunteers at a long-term care facility.

Will have :
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in any field and six (6) years of experience in adult education, instructional design, instructional technology, human resources, employee development, training, and / or producing instructional aid / materials. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling ten (10) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Employment is subject to nationwide criminal background check and is conditional pending results. Will be screened for tuberculosis (TB) upon hire.
Working Conditions
Works in office areas as well as throughout the nursing service area. Moves intermittently during working hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies / personnel, etc. Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors. Communicates with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department directors. Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Is subject to call back during emergency conditions. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. State of New Mexico employees may be affected by CMS COVID-related requirements. Must be able to push, pull, move, and / or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and move such weight at least 50 feet.
