Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A leadership opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) in a dynamic pharmacy setting. This contract-to-hire role offers the chance to oversee pharmacy operations with a focus on compliance, patient care, and team leadership.
Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations, managing day-to-day pharmacy activities such as prescription dispensing and medication counseling, and maintaining thorough records covering prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances. The Pharmacist in Charge will develop and implement policies that promote safety and efficiency, while providing guidance and training to pharmacy staff to maintain high service standards.
Key duties also involve overseeing inventory management to balance adequate medication supply with waste reduction; collaborating with healthcare providers, insurers, and stakeholders to resolve medication-related issues; and addressing customer inquiries with professionalism and promptness. The role demands active participation in quality improvement initiatives, conducting regular audits to uphold compliance, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment in accordance with infection control protocols.
