Comin' Up Program - Teen Specialist (Part-Time) - Fort Worth, TX at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County
Overview
The Comin' Up Teen Specialist is responsible for assigned programming, administrative compliance, facility and child safety, and transportation of members. The Comin' Up Gang Intervention Program serves gang-involved youth between the ages of 12 and 18 years in Fort Worth communities. The goal of the Comin' Up Gang Intervention Program is to positively impact the lives of youth involved in gangs by providing needs-based services and activities to reduce the level of gang violence in the City of Fort Worth.
Hiring Location : Panther - 1500 Hemphill, Fort Worth, TX 76104
Responsibilities
- Comin' Up Programming : Accountable for assigned programming and activities; ensure quality programming and activities
- Facility and Child Safety : Adhere to health and safety policies; protect members, staff, equipment, and facilities; report incidents within required timelines; maintain discipline and de-escalate conflict
- Administrative Compliance : Follow administrative policies and procedures; complete paperwork, reports, and data entry accurately and on time; use BGCGTC communication tools regularly
- Relationships : Be a positive role model; maintain emotional control under pressure; engage with youth in a respectful and empathetic manner
- Transportation of Members : Transport youth in compliance with safety guidelines; operate vehicles safely and report incidents promptly
- Attendance : Regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to scheduled hours
- Nonessential Duties : Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience : High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of 1 year of experience working with youth (professional or volunteer); experience with teens preferredMinimum Qualifications : Ability to work evening and night hours; positive role model; quick relationship-building; ability to facilitate, instruct, and mentor; follow instructions and policies; relate to at-risk youth; set expectations and boundaries; excellent listening and interpersonal skills; knowledge of technology and software (tablets, social media, cloud-based tools, virtual meeting tools); CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain; ability to pass agency background screens and drug screens; reliable transportation, liability insurance, satisfactory driving record, and valid driver's license for dutiesPreferred Qualifications : Bilingual; some college; experience or program knowledge of Boys & Girls Club Movement is an advantagePay & Benefits
