• Previous charge experience
• Experience with patient ratios of 1 : 6
• Familiarity with MedHost charting system

Description :

The RN will work in a medical-surgical / telemetry unit.

This is a night shift position, working 3x12-hour shifts one week and 4x12-hour shifts the next.

The staff ratio is 1 RN to 6 patients.

The unit may have 2 RNs with CNAs for up to 12 patients.

Occasionally, RNs and LPNs will be staffed if the census is 8 or less, utilizing a team nurse approach.

Experience with interpreting and managing dysrhythmias is essential.

Skills in using rapid response and code teams are required.

The nurse will manage peripheral lines and provide oxygen administration.

Experience with non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions is needed.

The daily census is typically 12 patients.

The patient population includes adults and geriatrics, with diverse diagnoses such as pneumonia, shortness of breath, chest pain, fever, wound infections, and post-operative care.

Interdisciplinary support is available from respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
