Sr. Product Design – Terminals, Kuiper CT Architecture
Join Amazon as a Senior Product Design Engineer for Project Kuiper, an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites providing low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. This role focuses on conceiving, designing, and bringing to market innovative consumer products for the Kuiper program.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the architecture of an outdoor consumer electronics product.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assess project / risk readiness for PD‑owned deliverables.
Communicate concisely and accurately with PD members, cross‑functional teams, and executives.
Adapt priorities based on high‑value judgments and changing circumstances.
Focus on customer outcomes when solving ambiguous problems.
Negotiate and collaborate with external partners to manage priorities and allocate PD resources effectively.
Create scalable solutions while addressing tactical challenges.
Travel up to 25% internationally and domestically as required.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
7+ years of experience in consumer electronics products, with recent experience as an architect or technical lead designing IP66 outdoor‑rated electronics / telecommunications products.
5+ years of experience with 3D CAD modeling, tooling reviews, and drawing release for production tooling.
5+ years of experience designing for high‑volume manufacturing and assembly processes, including plastic injection / thermoforming, casting, sheet metal, machining, and various finishing processes.
5+ years of experience designing PCBs, flex circuits, and electrical interconnects.
Preferred Qualifications
MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
15+ years of experience in consumer electronics products, with the last 5 years as an architect or technical lead for IP66 outdoor‑rated electronics / telecommunications products.
Expertise in multiple mechanical engineering disciplines.
5+ years of experience with phased‑array antennas, including field‑used products.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills at both the engineering and executive level.

Compensation for this position ranges from $128,600 per year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600 per year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on skills, experience, and job responsibilities.
