Description
- Provide district-wide desktop deployment and technology leadership, direction and support to all organizational functions and departments
- Service and support all district-wide desktop users
- Manage all desktop technology related projects on an ongoing basis
- Manage day-to-day desktop systems support operations
- Provide customer service through service level agreement and management, problem resolution, tracking, reporting, communication and escalation
- This employee reports to and is supervised by the assigned administrator

Responsible for the daily operation of all facets of the County School System Desktop support staff including all the Technology and Information System Team Members and daily operations to include training, coaching, organizing, planning and staffing operationsDetermine from blueprints and schematic drawings the size, location, cost and type of unit or component neededAssess present and future desktop needs using input from district-wide technology staff and usersEnsure an acceptable return on all district-wide desktop investmentsDevelop budgets and estimatesAssist with developing and documenting desktop requirements, process charts, test protocols, release schedules, process and communication plansAssist with identifying, evaluating and selecting comprehensive software and hardware solutions that will meet current and future needsImplement new desktop system upgrades with little or no impact on day-to-day operationsEnsure the capability, efficiency and effectiveness of the phone system, the network, stand-alone software and all IT-associated hardwareOversee activities associated with the identification, prioritization and resolution of technical problems; LAN / WAN administration, client / service computer operationsContinually protect the security and integrity of the County School Systems' data assetsMac / PC workstation / server hardware / software support and trainingSupport of Windows Operating System and Mac OSX operating systems, video, photography, graphic design and multimedia application supportDevelop, manage and supervise installation of desktop computersMust be familiar with telecommunications, such as firewall, VPN, routers and switchesAvailable to handle emergencies after normal work hoursMay assist in verifying accuracy of work ordersPerform related duties as assignedMinimum Training and Experience
Associates degreeAND ten, (10) years of desktop management experience in computer servicesCandidate must be familiar with current Windows operating system and Exchange server environmentsValid Florida Drivers License or will obtain within 30 workdays (required for travel)
