Job Title : Azure Cloud Engineer

Location : New York, NY (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities : 1. Cloud Architecture & Design

Design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures aligned with business and security standards.

Develop cloud governance frameworks, policies, and best practices .

Assess existing applications for cloud migration suitability and design migration roadmaps.

Create detailed architecture documentation using Microsoft Visio .

Support multi-cloud and hybrid on-premises architecture designs.

2. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation

Use Terraform , Azure ARM Templates , or Pulumi for automated infrastructure provisioning.

Build CI / CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions , GitLab CI / CD , Jenkins , or Azure DevOps .

Implement configuration management with Ansible , Chef , or Puppet .

Support Infrastructure-as-Code adoption across the organization.

3. Security & Compliance

Implement Azure security best practices including :

IAM , RBAC , Managed Identities , Key Vault , WAF , NSG , Defender for Cloud , Encryption .

Align with security frameworks such as CIS , NIST , and ISO 27001 .

Support Zero Trust Architecture principles.

Integrate with SIEM tools such as Splunk or Chronicle Security for monitoring and threat detection.

4. Performance Optimization & FinOps

Monitor and optimize cloud performance using Azure Monitor , Resource Health , and SolarWinds .

Implement auto-scaling , load balancing , and caching strategies.

Apply FinOps practices to manage and optimize cloud spending using Azure Cost Management and Azure Advisor .

5. Networking & Cloud Connectivity

Design and manage vNet , Hub-Spoke architecture , ExpressRoute , VPNs , and Peering .

Configure Application Gateway , Traffic Manager , and Load Balancers .

Optimize CDN performance (Frontdoor, Cloudflare, Akamai) for high-availability applications.

Ensure smooth integration between on-premises and cloud systems.

6. Troubleshooting & Support

Identify, analyze, and resolve issues in Azure environments using :

Azure Monitor , Network Watcher , and Activity Logs .

Collaborate with engineering teams for root-cause analysis and preventive actions .

7. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

Partner with DevOps, Networking, Cybersecurity, Finance, and Business teams to align solutions with organizational goals.

Communicate technical designs in clear, non-technical terms to business stakeholders.

Participate in cloud strategy, governance planning, and decision-making discussions.
