Qualifications for Mexican Restaurant Cook
Required :
- Proven experience as a line cook or prep cook, preferably in a Mexican or Latin American kitchen
- Strong knowledge of traditional Mexican cooking techniques, spices, and ingredients (e.g., salsas, tacos, tamales, mole, etc.)
- Ability to follow recipes and prepare dishes consistently with quality and presentation standards
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines (Active food handler's card is required, ServSafe certification is a plus)
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with kitchen staff
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
