Job Overview
ActivHealing Treatment Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled EMDR preferred Mental Health Practitioner (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD, or PhD) to join our trauma-informed team in Oceanside, CA. This part-time, W-2 position (3 hours / 3 days a week MWF) is ideal for a clinician passionate about working with military personnel, veterans, first responders, and individuals affected by trauma. The practitioner will deliver EMDR therapy as part of our outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), participating in treatment planning, documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. This is an on-site only role, offering a supportive work environment with flexible scheduling and opportunities for professional development.
Duties
- Provide individual and group EMDR therapy to clients experiencing trauma-related symptoms
- Conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and update goals in coordination with the interdisciplinary team
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with insurances and insurance billing standards
- Participate in weekly clinical meetings, case consultations, and staff development activities
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, and support staff to ensure continuity of care
- Utilize trauma-informed practices and integrate additional modalities as appropriate (e.g., CBT, DBT, Brainspotting)
- Support crisis intervention and safety planning when necessary
- Lead psychoeducational or trauma-processing groups
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and licensing board regulations
Skills
EMDR Proficiency – Demonstrated competence in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), including knowledge of protocols, phases, and trauma applicationsClinical Assessment – Strong ability to assess, diagnose, and develop effective treatment plans for individuals with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and related conditionsTrauma-Informed Care – Deep understanding of trauma-informed principles and experience working with high-acuity clients (veterans, first responders, etc.)Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration, documentation, and therapeutic engagementCultural Competence – Ability to work respectfully with diverse populations, including those with military or multicultural backgroundsOrganizational Skills – Proficient in managing time, documentation, and clinical priorities in a fast-paced outpatient or PHP settingTeam Collaboration – Experience working within multidisciplinary teams, participating in case consultations, and contributing to a collaborative care modelEthical Integrity – Knowledge of HIPAA, California licensure standards, and professional ethical guidelines (CAMFT, NASW, APA, etc.)Adaptability – Comfort with evolving client needs, documentation platforms (e.g., EHR), and structured program environmentsJob Type : Part-time
