Sign Installer Job Summary

A growing sign production company in Grand Rapids a Sign Installer to join their team. These team members will be assembling and installing various types of signage for a range of commercial customers.

Sign Installer Responsibilities

• Perform site evaluations to determine optimal installation methods and logistics.
• Safely load, transport, and unload signage, tools, and materials to and from job sites.
• Set up various signage systems, ensuring accurate measurements, secure attachment, and proper placement. Support disassembly or component replacement as needed.
• Prepare and install a wide range of signage types, including monument signs, pylons, post-and-panel structures, construction and real estate signage, digital displays, channel letters, flat panels, and directional / wayfinding systems.
• Address on-site challenges and adapt to unexpected conditions. Work closely with design teams, sales representatives, project managers, and other installers to ensure smooth project execution.
• Operate hand and power tools such as jigsaws, grinders, and drills with care and safety.
• Perform work at elevated heights when required.
• Maintain precision and visual quality in every installation, focusing on alignment, color matching, and overall aesthetics.
• Apply vinyl graphics to various surfaces including glass, walls, vehicles, storefronts, and more.
• Follow all safety procedures, industry regulations, and internal policies to ensure a safe and professional work environment for yourself and your team.

Sign Installer Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Strong eye for detail and dedication to craftsmanship.

Openness to learning and flexibility to handle diverse assignments.

Experience in signage or vinyl installation is highly desirable.

Must hold a valid driver’s license without restrictions; CDL is a plus.

Basic knowledge of tools, hardware, and installation methods is advantageous.

Understanding of different materials and signage mounting techniques is preferred.

Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and solid work ethic.

Capable of working autonomously or within a team setting.

Mechanical ability is essential, including tape measure reading and use of basic hand tools.

At least one year of hands-on experience in construction, electrical work, or carpentry is preferred.

Self-motivated individual able to stay focused without constant oversight.

Possession of or ability to obtain a Sign Specialist License is a bonus

Welding skills are an added benefit.
