The Financial Reporting, Controls, and Consultations (FRCC) team at Raytheon has an immediate opening for the role of Principal Specialist. The role is responsible for financial reporting preparation and analysis that is used in monthly and quarterly such as the segment's Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A). The role will also perform research for technical white papers, assist in recurring and nonrecurring reviews such as the annual goodwill impairment test, and process improvement projects. The role will also assist the internal controls team in projects, controls testing, and assessments to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).

The Financial Reporting, Controls, and Consultations team supports the Business Controller organization through : quarterly financial reporting deliverables, assessing transactions under US GAAP and Company Policy, internal controls compliance, completing finance projects, leading the adoption of new accounting standards, and providing accounting guidance and training to the broader organization. The position will allow for opportunities to cross-train and assist in these areas.

What You Will Do :

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial reporting deliverables, such as the segment Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) deliverable and the business performance review deliverable
  • Perform research in support of technical whitepapers which determine the accounting treatment for key and non-recurring transactions
  • Participate in or lead team-based projects or initiatives to improve processes, systems, templates, and tools for greater efficiency or accuracy to support the financial reporting and internal financial control environment
  • Serve as a point of contact for the external audit team through the quarterly review and annual audit procedures
  • Monitor and review evidence to support closure of open findings and compliance issues
  • Support Raytheon's Anti-Corruption program such as the annual Anti-Corruption Self-Assessment (ACSA)
  • As needed, perform ongoing testing of key controls to validate the effectiveness of controls over financial reporting for the segment
  • Assist in areas such as Raytheon's Anti-Corruption Sustainment program, compliance reviews of Raytheon's international and small sites, key reports, and control assessments

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Typically requires an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years' relevant (finance / accounting) experience or a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience
  • Previous experience with one or more of the following : SAP, Analysis for Office, MS Excel and / or similar financial systems
  • Previous experience and user understanding of financial accounting and reporting concepts
  • Qualifications We Prefer :

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    The salary range for this role is $82,000 - $164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Raytheon considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education / training, and key skills.
