Overview

This job posting is for a NETA / NICET II Technician role responsible for the acceptance and maintenance testing of power distribution equipment and operation of the test equipment needed to perform the job. The employer is a NETA Accredited Company providing comprehensive solutions for power distribution systems to industrial, municipal, and commercial clients.

Base pay

$120,000.00 / yr - $165,000.00 / yr

Job Details

The NETA / NICET II Technician is responsible for the acceptance and maintenance testing of power distribution equipment and operation of the test equipment needed to perform the job.

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • NETA Level 3+ certification or relevant experience in testing circuit breakers, transformers, grounding systems, distribution gear, and cables
  • Protective Relay Testing Experience
  • Relevant schooling, work experience, or internship in an electrical trade
  • AAS or BS degree in electrical engineering or industrial electronics recommended
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, and the ability to learn custom test equipment software)
  • Good understanding of power distribution and electrical components
  • Understanding of hazards around electrical circuits
  • Good work ethic and ability to comprehend electrical theory
  • Good customer relations skills and self-starter
  • Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acceptance and maintenance testing of power distribution equipment (circuit breakers, transformers, cables, distribution gear)
  • Training entry-level technicians on proper testing procedures and equipment operation
  • Ability to work independently
  • Typical hours are 8am–5pm; occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required
  • Reliable transportation to travel to and from office or customer sites
  • Flexibility to travel to out-of-area jobs for up to two weeks; most work local but some sites may be in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Alaska, or Hawaii
  • Maintain a drug-free status
