Groundman (Substation)

Job Title

Maintains landscaped areas for LP&L's substations.

Essential Functions

• Mow, trim, edge lawns. Trim trees and shrubs. Mow / shred native acres;
• Apply non-restricted pesticides to substation yards;
• Operate and maintain mechanical equipment;
• Haul materials by truck or tractor;
• Pick up litter and trash from grounds;
• Start irrigation systems and make minor repair to systems;
• Assist in testing and repairing transformers;

Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

Completion of high school or GED with an additional one year experience in groundskeeping, or maintenance work or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following :

Valid Texas Driver's License

Certified Non-Commercial Applicator

Critical Infrastructure : This position has been determined to have close contact with, or control of Critical Infrastructure components. This position is subject to extensive background checks and random drug screening.

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of : Groundskeeping methods, associated equipment and tools.

Ability to acquire a Non-commercial Applicators license within 90 days.

Physical Requirements :

Coordinate eye, hand and foot movements.
