Starting Wage

$38.57 / hour

Location

On-site position in Vista, CA.

Schedule

5 : 00 AM - 1 : 40 PM

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical equipment, vision systems, and computer-controlled devices.
  • Applies strong mechanical aptitude to identify and resolve production issues while minimizing downtime.
  • Performs preventative maintenance in accordance with written schedules and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems using AB-Rockwell and Siemens software.
  • Calibrates tank level transducers, differential pressure sensors, temperature transducers, and flow meters.
  • Conducts routine maintenance and inspections on dispensing and unit-dose packaging equipment.
  • Assists with the assembly, startup, and integration of mechanical devices and complete systems, following blueprints and written or verbal specifications with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate with vendors to order materials, machine components, and parts.
  • Coordinates with production management regarding work orders and project statuses.
  • Maintains records, schedules, and coordinates calibration services with production management as needed.
  • Provides task and project status updates to Automation management.
  • Generates and follows up on Purchase Orders (POs) and Expenditure Request Forms (ERFs) as required.
  • Develops preventive maintenance programs to optimize and sustain equipment performance.
  • Creates Work Instructions (WIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for preventative maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition.
  • Utilizes the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create, track, and close work orders, schedule preventative maintenance, log repairs, and maintain accurate equipment history.
  • Trains production operators / employees in equipment setup, operation, and best practices.
  • Assists in training Automation Technicians under the direction of Automation Supervisors.
  • Ensures personal and equipment safety compliance at all times.
  • Participates in special projects and equipment rebuilds.
  • Meets annual training and continuing education requirements as set by Automation management.
  • Must be able to drive up to 10% of the time (nationally and internationally) to visit equipment manufacturers, which may include ground and air transportation.
  • Must be able to drive to local vendors / suppliers and other company warehouses and may include transport of equipment, parts and tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned within job scope.
  • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5 years of experience in the Automation / Engineering field performing maintenance on industrial / commercial equipment, or related work.
  • Must obtain forklift and pallet jack certifications. Additional in-house safety certifications must be completed.
  • Must be proficient in the operation of pallet jack, forklift, other warehouse equipment, and tools.
  • Must have reliable transportation and possess and maintain a valid state of residence driver's license, including proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage and insurability under the Company's insurance carrier standards.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.)
