iShine Pediatric Therapy Clinic is a small clinician owned business in the beautiful hill country town of Boerne, Texas. We provide OT, PT, ST, behavior coaching and social skills groups to infants to teenagers with a variety of needs. Our clinicians work collaboratively with one another, often co-treating when possible and necessary. Humor and camaraderie are a huge part of our day! Position Summary : We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to assist in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of individualized therapeutic programs designed to enhance patients' physical and cognitive abilities. The ideal candidate will support patients in achieving greater independence in daily activities and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in the assessment of patients’ functional abilities, treatment needs, and progress.
- Implement therapeutic interventions as prescribed by the OT, following patient-specific treatment plans.
- Guide patients through exercises and activities designed to improve daily living skills, motor functions, and overall mobility.
- Monitor patient progress, document treatment activities, and report any changes in patient condition to the OT.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, and strategies for managing activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain patient records, progress notes, and other documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure therapy equipment is clean, safe, and properly maintained.
- Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines as set by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and applicable state regulations.
Qualifications :
Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.Active state license (if applicable).Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting (preferred but not required for new graduates).CPR certification (preferred).Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate patients.Basic knowledge of therapy techniques, adaptive equipment, and rehabilitation exercises.Ability to lift, move, and assist patients as needed during treatment sessions.Working Conditions :
