We are looking for a Strategy Director to join our team supporting our Google Policy and Responsible Marketing team. This role will lead the strategic vision and execution for complex, multi-workstream initiatives, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners across creative and production.
The Strategy Director will serve as a senior thought partner to our clients and internal teams, proactively uncovering and sharing insights, shaping narratives, and guiding creative work that connects business objectives to audience needs. Success in this role requires a blend of strategic rigor, creative storytelling, and a passion for Google’s AI products and the evolving policy landscape.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the strategic lead for key P&R workstreams, ensuring all deliverables align with client objectives and brand strategy.
- Build trusted client relationships, acting as a senior thought partner who can simplify complexity and influence decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to grow strategic engagement across the account, connecting initiatives to business impact.
- Support quarterly business reviews and strategic presentations that highlight impact, learning, and future opportunities.
- Act as a key strategic resource for senior Google leaders, providing insights, counsel and clear narratives that inform priorities and shape decision-making across the account
- Maintain an awareness of and fluency in the global movements, developments, and trends impacting the AI landscape and Google’s AI technologies.
- Lead the development of campaign strategies, creative briefs, and messaging frameworks that translate insights into actionable creative direction.
- Synthesize business goals, audience insights, market trends, and performance data into clear recommendations.
- Partner with creative teams to ensure strategic integrity and consistency throughout the creative process.
- Guide and mentor junior strategists to elevate strategic thinking across all deliverables.
- Work closely with account, production, and creative leads to align strategy with project roadmaps and resourcing plans.
- Design and facilitate regular workshops and brainstorms to identify meaningful business, marketing, and storytelling opportunities in service of quarterly and annual goals.
- Support the integration of AI and innovative tools to drive efficiency and elevate strategic output.
What You'll Bring
Ability to translate complex business goals into clear, actionable strategies.Experience analyzing market trends, audience insights, and campaign performance data to inform decision-making.Comfort with policy-related or highly technical subject matter, distilling complexity into simple, compelling narratives.Skilled at crafting clear messaging frameworks, narratives, and presentations.Ability to bridge strategy and creative, ensuring ideas are grounded in insights but resonate with audiences.Strong writing and verbal communication skills for client-facing and internal presentations.Experience and comfort building trusted partnerships with senior clients.Able to influence and advise clients on strategy, positioning, and prioritization.Comfortable leading workshops, strategic discussions, and quarterly business review presentations.Skilled at aligning multi-disciplinary teams toward a shared vision and clear execution plan.Ability to manage complex, multi-workstream initiatives efficiently.Skilled at managing, inspiring, and guiding other strategists while remaining hands-on and ready to dive into the work alongside them.Passion for Google’s AI products and the evolving technology / policy landscape.Curiosity and comfort in learning about new and evolving ai powered Google products and translating their value into marketing narratives.Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is $160,000-$185,000 for our base US Region 3. We have three regional pay ranges that are adjusted for cost of living (US1 +15%, US2 +7.5%, US3 Base), learn more about our pay philosophy and cost of living adjustmentsWhat We Offer
