Must-Have : Ability to titrate drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin.

Description :

Successful candidates will be working in a 28-bed private stepdown unit.

The patient-to-nurse ratio is generally 1 : 4-5, adjustable based on patient acuity.

Experience with monitoring equipment is necessary, as nurses must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips.

The unit is staffed with nurse aides during the day and mid-shift, but there are no aides available overnight.

Nurses are expected to participate in every other weekend shift rotation and one winter holiday shift per year.

Common diagnoses include heavy cardiac cases and cerebrovascular accidents, among others.

The nursing staff works alongside an in-house hospitalist available 24 / 7, as well as an intensivist during the day.

Registered Nurses should have the ability to coordinate care effectively within a fast-paced environment.

Team collaboration is emphasized, and open communication is a key part of the workplace culture.

Candidates will receive unit-specific orientation with a preceptor for two shifts.

Floating to the intensive care unit may be required for support as needed.

In-house respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available around the clock.

Candidates must be willing to work 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM and are required to work on alternating weekends.

This role involves critical decision-making and a high level of patient care and assessment.
