We are seeking a Preconstruction Coordinator to support our expanding portfolio of utility projects and help drive operational excellence from concept to execution.
Position Summary
The Preconstruction Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the planning, estimating, and proposal development process for T&D projects. This position will work closely with estimators, project managers, procurement, and field operations to ensure all preconstruction activities are well-organized, accurate, and delivered on time. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support all preconstruction activities for transmission and distribution projects, including overhead and underground work.
- Assist estimators in preparing and assembling bid packages, proposals, and supporting documentation.
- Review plans, specifications, and other bid documents to identify requirements and potential risks.
- Track bid opportunities, prequalification forms, and proposal submissions to ensure deadlines are met.
- Manage communication with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders during the preconstruction phase.
- Support contract administration, document control, and bid follow-up activities.
- Help maintain and update historical cost data, unit pricing, and project records for future use.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for pre-bid meetings, site visits, and internal project handoff meetings.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in the construction industry, preferably within electrical utility transmission and distributionFamiliarity with bid processes, contract documents, and utility construction methods.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with estimating or project management software is a plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.Why Join Us
