Travel Nursing Job Details

Position : Travel RN – Med / Surg Telemetry

Location : Leonardtown, MD 20650 (Southern Maryland healthcare jobs)

Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 6 / 2025 – End : 1 / 5 / 2026)

Shifts : Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day : 06 : 30–19 : 00, Night : 19 : 00–07 : 30), 4 shifts / week

Weekly Hours : 36–48 (based on scheduling)

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks)

Unit : Adult Med / Surg Telemetry (no pediatric care)

Patient Ratio : 1 : 5

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1590–$1710

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Maryland or compact state)

Minimum 2 years of recent adult Med / Surg Telemetry experience

BLS certification (required)

ACLS certification (preferred)

Two supervisor references

Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity

First-time travel nurses welcome

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

RN Job Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with conditions such as diabetes, CHF, infection, sepsis, COPD, general surgery, sickle cell crisis, and GI bleed

Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response situations

Administer medications and blood products; manage central / PICC lines, chest tubes, surgical drains, and feeding tubes

Operate patient lifts, CADD pumps, capnography, and other specialized clinical equipment

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services

Float to other medical-surgical or telemetry units as needed

Maintain accurate patient documentation and participate in self-scheduling
