Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Sanford, NC 27330 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)

Unit : Labor & Delivery / OB-GYN (17 L&D rooms, 5 OB rooms)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 3 / 2025 – End : 2 / 2 / 2026)

Shift : Nights, 12-hour shifts

Hours : 36 hours per week (guaranteed)

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Call : As needed / on request

Electronic Health Record : Cerner

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina

At least 1 year of recent experience in Labor & Delivery nursing

Required certifications : ACLS, BLS, CPI / HWC / MAB, AWHONN, NRP, and PALS (must be current or obtained before start)

Ability to float to other clinical units as needed

Strong commitment to high-quality patient care and professional demeanor

Scrub color : Any (no casual wear permitted)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver direct nursing care to patients in the Labor & Delivery unit

Monitor and assess mothers and newborns, implementing individualized care plans

Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Assist with labor, deliveries, and postpartum care

Document patient care accurately using Cerner EHR

Respond to obstetric and neonatal emergencies as needed

Float to other units within Women’s Services as required
