Description :

The Cath Lab Technologist uses specific high-technology equipment.

The technologist performs endovascular procedures on patients.

This leads to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac and peripheral vascular disease.

The technologist learns to monitor patient hemodynamic status.

They document during procedures.

They scrub during endovascular procedures to assist the physician.

The Cath Lab Technologist maintains job and license requirements.

They attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings.

They actively participate in self-education.

Completion of all required competency assessments on time is necessary.

The technologist performs ACC requirements and other duties as assigned.

Candidates should have experience in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath labs.

Experience in Electrophysiology (EP) Lab and Interventional Radiology is preferred.

Skills required include accurate monitoring and equipment setup.

Experience in cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, and hemodynamic monitoring is crucial.

Knowledge of various procedures, including IABP placement / removal and Impella insertion, is necessary.

The successful candidate should be familiar with maintaining a sterile field.

They must recognize life-threatening arrhythmias.

Equipment used includes Siemens machinery and PACS systems.

Physical requirements involve frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs.

The technologist works with various equipment and devices for procedures.

Strong proficiency in isolation precautions and rapid response team usage is expected.

Experience in vascular studies and procedures is beneficial.
