job_description.job_card.job_descriptionEnd-to-end product development : new designs and iterative improvements to existing suspension systems. Structural analysis using FEA and sound engineering practices to validate concepts and components. Comprehensive product documentation : 3D models, assembly layouts, detailed drawings, bills of material, and Engineering Change Requests. Creation and maintenance of project and product specifications. System sizing and selection of components to meet performance requirements. Cross-functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and support teams. Technical support for internal stakeholders and external customers. Project leadership : manage schedules, milestones, and progress to delivery. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field). 5–7+ years designing automotive suspensions. FEA proficiency; SolidWorks Simulation experience preferred. Fluency reading and applying standards, specifications, and engineering drawings; strong mechanical aptitude. Solid grounding in automotive engineering fundamentals and chassis systems. Hands-on hydraulic system design experience. Practical ability to build prototypes and design component / system test setups.

A day in this role
You’ll start your morning reviewing project timelines you’re leading, then open SolidWorks to iterate on a heavy-duty suspension component destined for off-highway mining equipment. By mid-morning, you’re running FEA to validate structural integrity and tuning hydraulic parameters to meet system sizing targets. After lunch, you meet with cross-functional partners to align on specifications and change requests. Before you wrap up, you build or refine a prototype test setup, translate insights into updated drawings and BOMs, and respond to a customer support inquiry with clear, technical guidance.
