Job Title : Machinists Location : Irwin, PA Type : Direct Hire Compensation : up to $62400 annually Contractor Work Model : Onsite Hours : 1st shift is 6AM-3PM, Monday- Friday The Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, inspecting, and programming both CNC and manual milling equipment in a precision manufacturing environment. It is a first-shift role with two openings focused on vertical CNC mills, vertical tool room equipment, and manual milling machines. Responsibilities Set up and operate vertical CNC mills and vertical tool room machines. Modify, troubleshoot, and prove out CNC programs. Perform manual milling operations. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and sketches to fabricate components. Configure machinery, optimize setups, and perform quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs. Maintain safe operation of machine tools and manage routine maintenance tasks such as coolant control and chip removal. Mentor coworkers on setup and fixturing procedures and adhere to production documentation and safety standards. Support continuous improvement efforts and track operational performance metrics. Rotate between machine centers as needed to meet production demands. Requirements : Proficiency in programming codes and manual machining (saws, lathes, mills). Experience operating manual milling machines and reading blueprints. Competency in shop math, measurement tools, and precision inspection instruments. Minimum of one year machinist experience or equivalent technical education. High school diploma or GED required. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in machining technology.
