Safety and Training Specialist (Temp-to-Hire)

Position Summary

We are partnering with a leading dietary supplement manufacturer that has been driving innovation in the industry for over 60 years. The company specializes in custom manufacturing and packaging solutions, producing gummies, probiotics, tablets, capsules, chewables, and powders, all crafted with clinically backed ingredients and exceptional quality standards .

The  Safety and Training Specialist  will support both the Anaheim and Orange facilities and play a key role in promoting a safe, compliant, and productive work environment. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this individual will lead safety initiatives, deliver training programs, and ensure adherence to OSHA and company safety requirements.

This is a  temp-to-hire opportunity  with  immediate availability , ideal for someone passionate about safety leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Location : Anaheim & Orange, CA

Day Shift | Monday – Friday | 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM

Pay : $30 – $34 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Safety Program Management

  • Implement and manage site-specific safety programs in compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, ergonomic assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  • Ensure prompt correction of hazards and maintain all safety equipment, PPE, and first aid supplies.
  • Serve as liaison with customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies on safety and environmental matters.
  • Support audits and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.

Training and Development

  • Facilitate new hire safety orientations and ongoing employee training sessions.
  • Identify and coordinate required safety training on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Lead safety committee meetings and promote a proactive safety culture across both sites.
  • Conduct HAZ / COM, emergency response, and first aid / fire extinguisher training.
  • Collaborate with managers to identify and address cross-training opportunities.
  • Incident and Workers’ Compensation Management

  • Conduct investigations for safety and workers’ compensation incidents.
  • File and manage workers’ compensation claims, working closely with HR.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with modified duty or return-to-work requirements.
  • Maintain detailed incident and compliance documentation.
  • Administrative and Compliance Support

  • Maintain EHS documentation, SDS records, and training files.
  • Assist in preparing for internal and external audits.
  • Support HR and EHS with regulatory compliance, vaccination programs, and safety policy implementation.
  • Participate in safety improvement projects aimed at reducing workplace injuries and non-compliance.
  • Key Requirements

  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)
  • Manufacturing experience, preferably in nutraceutical, food, or pharmaceutical industries
  • Workers’ compensation experience, including claim filing and case management
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state OSHA regulations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities across two sites
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management systems
  • Immediate availability required
  • This position requires a background check, drug test and E-verify.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Manufacturing, or related field; or equivalent experience (5+ years in manufacturing safety).
  • Certifications in Safety, Workers’ Compensation, or Human Resources preferred.
  • Experience supporting new production line startups or facility expansions a plus.
