Purpose of the Role :

The PRN Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing the dispensing of mail-order medications, providing clinical consultations, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards. Acting as a trusted source of pharmaceutical knowledge, the Pharmacist works to identify, resolve, and prevent medication-related issues through collaboration with veterinarians, clients, and pharmacy technicians.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Patient Consultation : Offer guidance and counseling to patients on prescription usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Clinical Oversight : Monitor medication therapies for safety and effectiveness, recommending adjustments to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all pharmacy operations align with federal, state, and local regulations, including accurate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Collaboration : Partner with pharmacy technicians and healthcare professionals to support patient care and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Continuous Education : Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy practices, new medications, and industry trends through ongoing education and training.

Qualifications :

  • Education : Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure : Active pharmacist license in [State]; must meet all state requirements to practice.
  • Skills : Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
  • Technology : Proficiency in pharmacy management software and electronic health records (EHR).
