SOME (So Others Might Eat) exists to help homeless and poor individuals and families in Washington, DC. Our more than 30 programs throughout the district provide comprehensive services that lead to mental and physical health, continued sobriety, job training, living-wage employment, and affordable housing. Compensation : We offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The hourly rate for this position is $90 - $95 per hour and may be commensurate with experience.

Position Title : Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Contractor

Department : Health Services

Reports To : Medical Director / Senior Director / Senior VP of Health Services

FLSA Status : Contract

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) Contractor provides high-quality, integrated primary and behavioral health care to individuals experiencing homelessness and / or severe poverty. The NP will deliver direct clinical services, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and support compliance and quality improvement initiatives in alignment with SOME’s mission and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Direct Clinical Care

• Provide outpatient clinical services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and referral to specialists as needed.
• Deliver emergency care when appropriate and document per accepted protocols.
• Oversee disease prevention and health promotion protocols in line with established standards.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director, Senior Director, Senior VP, clinical staff, and volunteers in daily clinical operations.
• Review abnormal laboratory / test results and make recommendations.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat co-occurring medical, psychiatric, and substance use disorders in collaboration with the integrated care team.
• Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, and linkage to higher levels of care within scope of practice.

CREDENTIALING REQUIREMENTS

Position Designation : This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. You may be subject to drug testing prior to or during your employment with SOME. In this position, you may be disqualified from employment based on the presence of marijuana in test results, even if you possess a medical card authorizing the use of medical marijuana.
