Job Overview

The Asset Services Vice President (VP), specializing in LATAM Corporate Actions, leads a team ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant processing of complex events within the Latin American region. This role demands a deep understanding of LATAM market nuances, regulations, and client needs, combined with proven leadership, communication (Spanish and / or Portuguese as well as English proficiency), and strategic thinking. The Senior AVP drives operational excellence by overseeing data analysis, reconciliation, transaction processing, inquiry resolution, and risk management, contributing to a high-performing team and exceptional client satisfaction.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead and direct a team responsible for the end-to-end processing of LATAM Corporate Action events, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and minimize risk within the LATAM Corporate Actions team.
  • Proactively identify and address potential challenges and risks specific to LATAM markets, ensuring timely and effective execution of client instructions.
  • Serve as a primary point of escalation and subject matter expert for complex LATAM-related issues, providing guidance and support to team members and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Oversee in-depth analyses of operational performance and key metrics, identifying trends and implementing solutions to improve accuracy, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
  • Champion a strong compliance culture by ensuring team members are thoroughly trained on all relevant regulations and procedures and that these are consistently followed.
  • Foster strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including LATAM clients, internal business partners, external vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Effectively manage and mitigate operational risks, ensuring adherence to the Firm's risk management framework and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on team performance, key initiatives, and risk management activities.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to optimize service delivery, reduce operational costs, and enhance the overall client experience within the LATAM Corporate Actions space.

Qualifications :

  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in financial services operations, with significant and demonstrable expertise in asset servicing and corporate actions within LATAM markets.
  • Proven leadership experience, including successfully managing, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Expert-level understanding of cash flows, accounting treatments, operational controls, and market practices specific to LATAM.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a proven ability to develop and implement innovative solutions.
  • Superior communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including fluency in Spanish and / or Portuguese as well as English (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant industry software, including experience with global custody platforms and data management systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant LATAM regulatory frameworks, compliance requirements, and risk management principles.
  • Education :

  • Bachelor's / University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual (Preference English / Portuguese)
