Critical Care / ICU Nurse Practitioner

Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group is currently accepting CVs from Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine AGACNPs / PA-Cs to join their employed physician group on the West Coast of Florida.

Role & Responsibilities

• Full time AGACNP or Physician Assistant (PA-C) position.
• Hospital-based positions working thirteen 12-hour shifts per month (including weekends) rotating between the SMH-Venice Hospital and SMH Sarasota Campus.
• Day-shift position working 7AM 7PM and / or night-shift position will be 7PM-7AM.
• Work collaboratively with Pulmonary / Critical Care (Intensivists) at each hospital along with other subspecialties to provide the best patient care.
• Circulate the units, evaluate patients, review daily notes, labs and studies to identify patient needs.
• Discuss care plans with RN s and enter orders accordingly.
• Review ABGs, vent settings and plan accordingly with Respiratory Therapists (RTs).
• Address cross coverage issues to include abnormal labs or changes in patient condition.
• Provide stabilization of patient if deterioration occurs.
• Will place central lines, perform intubations, participate in stroke alerts, and respond to house-wide codes when needed.
• Responsible to complete admissions to the ICU and step-down units.
