The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for the chemicals category for developing, implementing and optimizing the sourcing and procurement strategies. This role will drive improvements in our procurement operations and will work closely with all functions both locally and globally to help negotiate contracts, develop and cultivate chemical supplier relationships and supplier management programs, reduce costs and improve delivery time while ensuring that the supply chain is in alignment with the needs of the organization.
- Perform supply market analyses and use sourcing tools to identify suppliers with capabilities which meet business needs.
- Support the RFx process, contract negotiations, and ensure contract deliverables are realized, e.g., SLA’s, Savings, etc.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with any agreements, internal policies, and procedures.
- Invoice and AP reconciliation
- Assist in quality issues resolution, SCAR follow up, etc
- Manage day to day supplier interactions, negotiations, and escalation requirements prior to escalating internally
- Create, review and approve purchase orders in the workflow for category spend under management and within authorized approval limits.
- Work within requirements, draft, and handle workflow for Scopes of Work (SOW) covering commercial terms.
- Track the expiry of the contract's term and alerts sourcing manager and stakeholder(s) for existing contracts.
- Support the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) initiatives which normally includes, but is not limited to, coordinating supplier governance meetings, creating / distributing scorecards, working with partners to review performance metrics, reporting SRM meeting action items, and tracking resolutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in Procurement or Compliance
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Experience in market research to analyze markets, identify trends and new opportunities for cost reduction
- Pharma experience preferred
- Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments both local and global
