Registered Nurse - Surgical General - PRN

Description\n\nSummary : \n\nAs a skilled and independent Nurse, you will play a vital role in patient care by managing both routine and complex nursing tasks in a dynamic clinical environment. You will be expected to demonstrate clinical competence and contribute to achieving long-term care goals while continually enhancing your ability to handle the challenges presented in your nursing practice. Your role will also involve making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to effectively manage patient care.\n\nResponsibilities : \n

• Deliver nursing care according to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, encompassing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for your assigned patients.\n
• Effectively address the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, adhering to your level of practice.\n
• Administer medications and treatments following the proper protocols while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.\n
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided.\n
• Evaluate patient and caregiver learning needs, offering education and resources as necessary.\n\nJob Requirements : \n\nEducation / Skills\n
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.\n\nExperience\n
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.\n\nLicenses, Registrations, or Certifications\n
• BLS certification is required.\n
• Current RN License in the state of employment or compact state.\n\nPosition Requirements : \n\nCredential Grace Periods : \n
• Candidates with at least one year of acute care nursing experience in a similar specialty within the last three years will be considered Experienced Associates.\n
• Candidates lacking a year of acute care clinical experience in the specialty within the past three years will be categorized as Experienced Associates New to the Specialty.\n\nCredential Grace Periods for Experienced Associates\n\nCredential Grace Periods for New Graduates & Experienced Associates New to the Specialty\n
• BLS : No grace period required. AHA or Red Cross accepted upon hire.\n
• ACLS : 30 days grace for Experienced Associates, 90 days for New Graduates & New Associates.\n
• PALS : 30 days grace for Experienced Associates, 90 days for New Graduates & New Associates.\n
• TNCC : 60 days grace for Experienced Associates, 18 months for New Graduates & New Associates.\n
• TCAR : 60 days grace for Experienced Associates, 18 months for New Graduates & New Associates.\n
• NRP : 30 days grace for Experienced Associates, 60 days for New Graduates & New Associates.\n
• AWHONN INTERMEDIATE FHM : 30 days grace for Experienced Associates, 60 days for New Graduates & New Associates.\n
