DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for completing a wide-range of assignments involving moderately complex accounting principles and practices in accordance with department policies and procedures. Primary duties will entail invoice processing functions and monitoring budgets and expenditures. Effective communication skills are essential, as you will be collaborating with the comptroller and any necessary vendors to reconcile invoices and resolve any issues. You will also be tasked with reviewing budget reports, taking any appropriate actions, and maintaining detailed documentation regarding the status of existing funds. In addition, you will review Funds Commitment balances to determine if there is a need for reallocating funds from one fiscal year to another.
