Mental Health Curriculum Trainer

Hourly Wage : $22.17 / Regular / Full-Time
The Mental Health Curriculum Trainer is responsible for delivering educational programs and training sessions that promote mental health awareness, intervention techniques, and effective communication strategies. This role focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to support mental health initiatives within their communities or organizations.
They will work with the Systems of Care Project Director to implement a training plan for each year of the grant. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Mental Health Curriculum Trainer to facilitate, implement, and evaluate training programs focused on mental health topics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health education and experience in developing curricula that meet the needs of various audiences.
Examples of Work Performed :
Curriculum Development : Design and update training materials and curricula that cover essential mental health topics, including intervention strategies, crisis management, and wellness practices.
Training Development : Design and develop training curricula and materials that cover key mental health topics, including stress management, crisis intervention, and supportive communication.
Training Facilitation : Conduct interactive workshops and training sessions for various audiences, including students, parents, healthcare professionals, educators, and community groups.
Training Delivery : Facilitate engaging training sessions for diverse groups, including healthcare professionals, educators, and community members, using various instructional methods and technologies.
Assessment and Evaluation : Assess the training needs of participants, though conducting a needs assessment to identify the training needs and tailor programs accordingly. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and outcome measurements.
Collaboration : Work with mental health organizations, mental health professionals, educators, and community leaders, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure the curriculum aligns with best practices and community needs.
Resource Management : Maintain and curate a library of resources and materials that support training efforts and promote ongoing learning. Resource Provision : Provide participants with relevant resources and tools to support ongoing learning and application of skills.
Continuing Education / Continuous Learning : Stay updated on the latest research, trends, and best practices in mental health to enhance training content and delivery methods.
Reporting : Maintain records of training sessions, participant feedback, and outcomes for organizational review and improvement.
Will participate in community outreach and community engagement events.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
Strong knowledge of mental health issues, interventions, and best practices.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of learners.
Certification in mental health first aid or similar credentials will be required.
Proven experience in curriculum development and training delivery in the mental health field.
Ability to engage and motivate participants from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge, skills, and ability to help Yakama children and families by providing services in ways that respect Yakama culture and spiritual practices.
Knowledge of HIPAA.
Must uphold strict confidentiality.
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, education, or a related field, or 2-3 years experience in
training, education, or a related field.
This position will require some flexing hours to work on evenings and weekends.
Ability to maintain confidentially. (Required)
This position will require significant travel through the Yakama Reservation and out of town.
Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit.
Required to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Preferred Requirements :
Experience training educators, behavioral health professionals and community providers on evidence based mental health practices.
Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
