What you will be doing : The Project Engineer applies established engineering principles to plan, design, and develop systems, facilities, or processes. They direct all aspects of assigned engineering projects, including Grade 4-7 project team members.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project of moderate scope for the respective specialty.
- Perform work involving conventional engineering practice, but may include complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
- Maintain effective liaison with the client as needed.
- Initiate and complete the correction of conditions that may adversely affect project completion on schedule and within budget.
- Support the project manager with proposal development, work plan development, coordination of multi-discipline projects, monitoring schedules and budgets, and attending project meetings.
- Conduct field work.
- Oversee and supervise departmental personnel on projects, monitor their technical performance, and provide guidance.
- Assist in leadership, guidance, and skills development of team members.
- Perform independent and review others' engineering calculations.
- Ensure the project proceeds on schedule and within budget.
- Maintain and develop technical knowledge, monitor advances, and recommend training.
- Develop and prepare plans and diagrams using design software.
- Process shop drawings, respond to RFI's, edit specifications, create charts and schedules, and develop cost estimates.
- Perform QA / QC procedures and enforce quality control throughout project development.
- Ensure compliance with procedures relevant to project design and implementation.
- Assist with technical solutions to construction problems.
- Conduct studies and develop reports for technical projects.
- Conduct project review sessions to monitor progress.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduation from an ABET-accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.Minimum 7 years of engineering design experience.Licensed Professional Engineer.Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD & MicroStation) and Microsoft Office.Seniority level
