What you will be doing : The Project Engineer applies established engineering principles to plan, design, and develop systems, facilities, or processes. They direct all aspects of assigned engineering projects, including Grade 4-7 project team members.

What you will be doing : The Project Engineer applies established engineering principles to plan, design, and develop systems, facilities, or processes. They direct all aspects of assigned engineering projects, including Grade 4-7 project team members.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project of moderate scope for the respective specialty.
• Perform work involving conventional engineering practice, but may include complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
• Maintain effective liaison with the client as needed.
• Initiate and complete the correction of conditions that may adversely affect project completion on schedule and within budget.
• Support the project manager with proposal development, work plan development, coordination of multi-discipline projects, monitoring schedules and budgets, and attending project meetings.
• Conduct field work.
• Oversee and supervise departmental personnel on projects, monitor their technical performance, and provide guidance.
• Assist in leadership, guidance, and skills development of team members.
• Perform independent and review others' engineering calculations.
• Ensure the project proceeds on schedule and within budget.
• Maintain and develop technical knowledge, monitor advances, and recommend training.
• Develop and prepare plans and diagrams using design software.
• Process shop drawings, respond to RFI's, edit specifications, create charts and schedules, and develop cost estimates.
• Perform QA / QC procedures and enforce quality control throughout project development.
• Ensure compliance with procedures relevant to project design and implementation.
• Assist with technical solutions to construction problems.
• Conduct studies and develop reports for technical projects.
• Conduct project review sessions to monitor progress.
• Perform other related work as assigned.
